High tide: Trentemoult with its feet in the water
Illustration· Ouest-France
On Wednesday 18 February 2026, around 8pm, the high tide pushed the Loire over Trentemoult's quays.
Water reached the riverside terraces and covered the old Navibus pontoon. The town banned traffic and parking on the quays, place des Filets, allée Choemet and the Port car park.
Some residents sandbagged their garage doors; many came out to see the flooded village, a first for some of them.
A reminder that the village lives with the river: see our History page on floods.
