21 quai Surcouf, Trentemoult, 44400 Rezé
Lives on quai Surcouf; 2010 Parcours des créateurs poster; Maison des Isles charity sale (2024).
Born in Brittany in 1962, Charlotte Madézo trained as an agronomist: to reconcile her seafaring ancestors with the land, she paints 'between sea and garden'. Her canvases, built up in successive layers with glazes and collage, are peopled with lanky, whimsical figures: bathers, girls carrying plump tuna, musicians, rabbits escaped from Alice in Wonderland, cafés and 'psycafés', white huts facing a blue sea. Based on the Trentemoult quays, she illustrated the poster for the 2010 Parcours des créateurs and takes part, with her partner Daniel Le Saux, in the Amis des enfants du monde charity sale at the Maison des Isles. Her paintings are sold through galleries in Dinard, Audierne, Douarnenez, Vannes, Saint-Nazaire and on the Île d'Yeu; she also teaches qigong.
