Illustrazione· Rezé Mensuel n°196 (février 2025), p. 16 — Ville de Rezé
Not yet built, but already named! The first ten public streets on the former slaughterhouse site, in the Les Isles development zone, now have their names. From 21 November to 21 December 2024, more than 300 Rezé residents voted. Four names of notable women were chosen: Jeanne de Belleville, Rachel Carson, Harriet Tubman and Victoria Drummond. Six common names tied to the history of the place came out on top: Les civelles, Les cap-hornières, Angélique des estuaires, Les bargers (fishermen of the Isles), Le Courtil-Brisset (the stream that once flowed in Trentemoult) and Les pibaliers. The first buildings are due in late 2027.
