Estuaire cruises on the Loire

7-day pass

From Nantes to Saint-Nazaire, a guided cruise passes the artworks of the Estuaire collection and the landscapes of the river. It is included only in the Voyage à Nantes 7-day Pass, not in the shorter passes. Current terms are on levoyageanantes.fr.

For anyone starting in Trentemoult, the Loire is already the everyday route: the village is in Rezé, on the river, and Nantes is a Navibus ride to Gare maritime. The cruise itself leaves central Nantes and goes down the estuary to Saint-Nazaire, along the works of the Estuaire festival. As the crow flies, the point marked here is about 1.9 km from Trentemoult. The real journey is by car along the estuary or, depending on the departure, by TER train or by cruise from Nantes. The quay and the times are on the Voyage à Nantes website.

The same estuary can be visited another way at Cordemais, at the Terre d'estuaire centre: marshes, wildlife and a lookout over the river. Another, shorter cruise covers the Erdre and the Loire from Nantes, leaving quai de la Motte-Rouge for the Erdre. The Wikipedia page of the Estuaire festival is linked here for the collection of works along the Loire.

From the village, the trip continues the Navibus crossing downstream, without leaving the river. It suits residents who want to show the estuary, and visitors who have already come for Trentemoult's colourful lanes.
