Sculpture (stone, metal, wood)

Hangar du Pendule, 2 bis rue Codet, Trentemoult, 44400 Rezé
Studio at the Hangar du Pendule (Trentemoult).
After studying engineering, Xavier Farges chose to work with his hands: a bricklaying qualification in Nancy, then stonemasonry in Saumur and a professional diploma in Angers with the Compagnons du devoir. He sculpts stone, steel and wood into contemporary, architectural forms: panels of mineral layers (La Gacilly slate, reinforced concrete), 'Volumes 4×6' cut with chisel and mallet, and blocks stacked on steel rods. A tenant of the Hangar du Pendule, he hung a giant stone-and-metal mobile there, 'De la pierre dans les airs', during the 2025 WAVE biennial. He also designs furniture combining metal, wood and marble.
