An ecological counterpoint to the “Thousand Cows” farm project, the community farm Mille Bras (“Thousand Arms”) grew out of Scopéli, Trentemoult's cooperative supermarket, so as to grow part of its own local organic vegetables. Launched in January 2020 with the help of a market gardener from Bouguenais who lends a greenhouse and a 1,000 m² plot, the project has already yielded 150 kg of beans and 20 kg of blackcurrants, sold at market price. In 2021, two market gardeners will be hired on land bought by Nantes Métropole. The farm has 150 members and hopes to settle in Rezé, offer training and one day supply canteens and hospitals.
