“In the wake of Marie-Thérèse”: a tribute to a quayside figure and painter Yves Marion
Illustration· Rezé Mensuel n°187 (mars 2024), p. 16 — Ville de Rezé
Born in 1933 “at the far end of Finistère”, Marie-Thérèse Le Moal worked as a schoolteacher, notably on the island of Sein in 1961, with her husband, the painter Yves Marion. The couple settled in 1989 on the Haute-Île, then in 1998 the painter found his dream studio on the Trentemoult quay; she stayed there after his death in 2007. A familiar figure for her walks along the quay and her Tuesday-morning meetings at the Café du port, she is moving back to Douarnenez after thirty-five years in the neighbourhood. Neighbours and friends paid tribute to her on 16 and 17 March 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm, with Yves Marion's works shown in private homes.
